InputOutputGlobal (IOG), the software company behind the development of the Cardano ecosystem, recently announced the launch of an unauthorized Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) sidechain alpha on the testnet.
The new development was announced a few hours ago via IOG’s official Twitter handle.

IOG tweeted “We are releasing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Sidechain Alpha! (Currently on the testnet.) Build Solidity-based applications with Cardano – a decentralized, unauthorized, sustainable blockchain. The future is interoperable. “

IOG published a blog post titled “Interoperability is the Key to Blockchain Growth” on April 28, 2022, reminding us that about five Cardano sidechains were discussed. ..
A blog post describing the alpha version of the newly released Permissionless Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechain is partly as follows:
“”IOG plans to release a new unauthorized EVM sidechain this year. This sidechain allows developers to write Solidity smart contracts in Cardano and gain many of Cardano’s benefits while creating EVM-compatible DApps and ERC20-compatible tokens (and eventually their own sidechains). I can do it. This means users can benefit from much lower rates and faster payment times on the more environmentally sustainable blockchain.
“”Key features of the EVM sidechain are Ethereum upgrades and full tool compatibility, Web3 wallet compatibility, the use of the Proof of Stake Ouroboros Byzantine Fault Tolerance Protocol, and, of course, the ability to inherit security from Cardano. is. Main chain.“

Also on June 11th, IOG shared a tweet and captioned a video explaining how Solidity developers “request access to the EVM sidechain alpha release.”
Video caption, IOG wrote, “”We believe in an interoperable future built on multiple blockchains. That’s why we are releasing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Sidechain Alpha! We welcome the Ethereum community of users and developers to be free to participate in the best Cardano offers. “
