In last week’s summary, we saw yet another F & B brand stepping into the world of NFTs.
The new ice cream shop at Sunway Pyramid is designed to act like a kind of NFT museum displaying the work of popular NFT artists.
Beyond art appreciation and practicality, brands jumping on NFT trains appear to primarily leverage the marketing value they drive.
And behold, it was only a matter of time before we actually found a marketing agency that seemed to take advantage of it.
NFT as a marketing tactic
JUMIX, a creative marketing agency, sets an example of what NFTs can do. BeUtopia (BeU), a unique NFT project, brings light to those who feel irrelevant in society.
The character is inspired by the Matryoshka doll and aims to evoke self-expression. 10,000 BeU collectibles are now available and can be created using BeU’s network via Polygon’s blockchain.
The project has several stages, each aimed at participating and engaging in the community.
For example, if 20% (2,000) of the collection is sold, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to a charity selected by the BeU community.
The company plans to launch products for BeU owners at 60%. Once 100% of the collection is sold, the company will develop games for the BeU community.
The main purpose of JUMIX to create BeU is to show clients and prospects that they are ready to help the agency grow their NFT marketing campaign from start to finish.
However, while it’s clear that JUMIX is behind BeU, keep in mind that the main team members running the project, like all DYORs, don’t really expose themselves.
HP’s NFT Mentorship Program
In a three-month mentorship program organized by Hewlett-Packard (HP), 11 Malaysians learned how to create NFTs under three industry creative mentorships.
The mentor is co-founder of Malaysian pop singer and songwriter Zee Avi, music producer and composer Daniel Veerapen, and creative director and creative agency Edwin Raj.

Under mentorship, creative mentees from a variety of backgrounds were able to use HP laptops to create art and music.
HP has officially released the official NFT audiovisual experience and 100 exclusive collectable NFTs that can be viewed and purchased on NVF angolin. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Kakiseni, a non-profit arts and culture organization, and the other half will be donated to the program’s mentees.
Fuel of thought
NFTs are often portrayed in a negative way by environmentally friendly activists.
These communities list the significant amount of power needed to create a single NFT. Ethereum is said to consume about 84kWh of electricity, which is enough to power a normal home for almost two days.
Currently, fossil fuels are required for power generation, releasing pollutants into the atmosphere.

However, ongoing efforts are being made by relevant stakeholders to reduce the environmental impact of technology.
Some methods include making NFT mining and transactions more efficient, or using new and innovative solutions, and creating more energy-efficient blockchain platforms.
I’ve written an explanatory article detailing how these solutions work, so if you’re confused or curious, check out the details.
