- Ape Board allows users to track yield agricultural assets across the blockchain network
- Nansen said he is considering an acquisition following a Series B $ 75 million funding round in December.
Blockchain data analysis platform Nansen has acquired DeFi portfolio tracker ApeBoard to enhance its Web3 data capabilities.
The acquisition, unveiled at Blockworks’ Permissionless meeting on Tuesday, ended earlier this month. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Nansen began building the platform in 2019 to give users more information about the wallets they are trading on-chain. It combines on-chain data with an ever-growing database of millions of wallet labels.
Founded last year, ApeBoard lists nearly 400 protocols across 33 blockchains and one exchange. Its cross-chain decentralized finance (DeFi) dashboard allows users to track the harvested agricultural assets of each network and automatically calculate their net worth.
The acquisition will make Nansen “the definitive information superapp for web3,” the company said in a news release. It will also spur future launches of features such as portfolio tracking, programmatic access to on-chain data, and Web3 native communications.
Alex Svanevik, CEO of Nansen, said retrieving data from the DeFi protocol and blockchain is complex and fragmented.
“Over the world of Web3, investors are forced to use a variety of tools to obtain a single piece of data that is useful for their investment strategies,” Svanevik said in a statement. “This acquisition has taken a major step in bringing all the needs of traders, institutions or businesses under one roof.”
The acquisition follows Nansen’s $ 75 million Series B funding round in December, led by Axel, GIC, a16z, Tiger Global, SCB and 10X. The company raised $ 12 million for Series A in June.
Svanevik said he would consider hiring more team members and making strategic acquisitions after recent funding. The CEO added that in 2022, the company will focus on providing programmatic access to on-chain data to its clients.
