NFT Worlds, an NFT project dedicated to Minecraft games, has challenged the game’s parent company, Mojang Studios, to ban in-game NFT and has revealed plans to take action against it.
Project co-founder Ark Dev visited Twitter on Tuesday to show that he was against Minercraft’s decision.
He said the announcement by Mojang Studios made their Metaverse project “blind side”. NFT Worlds is currently using the Minecraft source code as the basis for NFT-powered Metaverse projects.
on wednesday, Minecraft game declared NFTs are banned along with blockchain products as they conflict with the guidelines. The company cited concerns about unequal access by in-game NFT products.
On the Discord server, the NFT World team said they were evaluating various options for restoring the project. They are also trying to contact the “appropriate decision makers within the Minecraft Policy Enforcement Team” to understand the move.
If you can’t convince Minecraft’s highest authority, the project is looking at other options as well. Among these options, NFT Worlds also plans to leverage its own Minecraft-like game engine and gaming platform to collaborate with other projects.
However, due to the negative effects of Minecraft, NFT Worlds’ NFT minimum rates have already plummeted.according to Reflected data OpenSea has sold 555 NFTs from NFT Worlds over the last 16 days, dropping the average price from 3.33 ETH to 1.06 ETH.
On Twitter, many companies and individuals belonging to the NFT and Metaverse projects have accused Mojang of suddenly banning NFTs. Yat Siu, executive chairman of Animoca Brands, a leading Metaverse project maker, has accused Microsoft and Minecraft of calling the move a “digital dictatorship.”
