Last Sunday, the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo Town, Ondo, was pure as an unknown insurgent invaded the church, shooting sporadically and indiscriminately during service, killing numerous worshipers, including women and children. Terrorism was completely exhibited. More people were injured because the temple was invaded. It was a scene of human horror and bestiality. Not that we are unfamiliar with terrorism and horrific events, but this particular slaughter has shown another image of our descent into barbarism.
Nigeria is becoming a horror of people living dangerous lives. The country has never been so terrible since democracy regained after decades of dictatorship in 1999. Still, the worst seems to be offshore. You may find that tomorrow is worse than today!
In many Christian nations of Pentecost, on the seventh Sunday after Easter, believers traditionally hold annual religious events in the prayer and worship of the resurrected Christ to commemorate the advent of the Holy Spirit to their disciples. Celebrating. When we celebrate the exploitation of Jesus Christ and his Atonement in a sinful life, we face the worst kind of terrorism in our perplexed hometown.
Yesterday we heard about Deborah Samuel, a young female student who was lynched and burned to ashes in Sokoto, which allegedly blasphemed the Prophet Muhammad. Also yesterday in Abuja, following a line with an Islamic priest, I saw a mob attacking one Ahmadousman and killing him badly! Yesterday, too, the prelate of the Methodist Church in Nigeria, his prominent Samuel Kanu, and two others were kidnapped somewhere in Abia and how they bombarded millions of naira for freedom. I heard the horrifying details of!
Again yesterday, I heard that the Fula herders kidnapped the apostle’s joyful ouzo and mercilessly stabbed her chest and stomach. He is currently fighting to stay alive in the hospital! And today, the country again mourns the brutal assassination of Christians within the Catholic Church of Owo. Worshiping the Supreme God is now a crime punished by terrorism! Griefs occupy the land and blood is flowing from almost every area.

Recently, a suspected terrorist invaded the site of the St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception in the Aho community of Ouakpa in the Ogbadibo local government area of Benue. They kidnapped the priest’s cook when they couldn’t reach the priest’s principal.
According to an online report a few days ago, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s cousin Mike Ogiasa was abducted by an armed group in Bayelsa. He hasn’t regained his freedom yet. The former Special Mission Secretary, who was in charge of the state’s federal project, was arrested when he returned home after an official outing.
President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly was unusually quick in his reaction to the massacre in Owo, Ondo, blaming the same and “cursing” the perpetrators. Still, it goes beyond the blame and rain curse for the demonic element. If we have to continue to unite as brothers and sisters, we have to give something. Justice must be provided to the victims in order to discourage others from pursuing the same murderous method.
Nigeria is being abused and bloody every day by terrorist elements that can lead to religious conflicts and the collapse of the country. Nigeria is destined to take the kidnapped and liberated God’s Methodist man, Primate Kanu, seriously. According to him, the Fula herders were responsible for their kidnapping. He has declared ominously that these non-circulating outlaws have revealed that they are waiting for the right moment of a strike to invade the entire Igboland with the aim of controlling the land!
Currently, in countries divided along ethnic and religious lines, the leadership of the Center criminally demonstrates the abominable inability to secure the lives and property of our people. We live in an era when the sanctity of life has no meaning to our torturers.
Since independence in 1960, the Fula have presided over our national affairs, but at no point in history we have witnessed these daily horrific events in our miserable lives. President Buhari deliberately or unknowingly bolded his relatives by his negligence and / or collusion in their sneaky criminal activity. He has been accused of supporting and betting on their territorial conquest! And their beneficial kidnapping venture.
The primates Uche explosively claimed to have suspected military collusion in their kidnapping. Since the militarization of the Southeastern region, it has been more or less due to Fula-controlled soldiers and paramilitary organizations, and has not seen any improvement in Igboland’s security agenda. Instead, we are seeing the recurrence of violence and national terrorism.
Hundreds of people died and hundreds were involved in a shootout between unknown armed groups and security forces. Still, security is a major concern everywhere! There is no longer a safe place to escape the poisonous areas of kidnappers, bandits and terrorists.
In Anambra, armed criminals rampaged and killed, set fire, and kidnapped people for ransom. Governor Soldo appears to be overwhelmed by the consistent display of boldness in the perpetuation of these vicious crimes.
Nigeria patrioticly believes that because it is currently made up of the federal government, it cannot sustain itself without some form of restructuring. Those who oppose this firm debate about fundamental systematic change are living in a borrowed era! We can afford to postpone the end, but we cannot afford to ignore its catastrophic consequences.
Pentecostal terrorism in the town of Owo must question our collective consciousness when people are in terror. Moreover, Buharism must be accountable, as the main purpose of governance is the security of life and property. He could now quit and choose to save the imminent mayhem, turmoil and disorder.
May the souls of those slaughtered in St. Francis’ Church become heaven! We mourn for them!
